West Ham United are said to be chasing Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.
According to the Star, West Ham are interested in signing Kone from Sunderland in the near future.
And Grayson admits that the powerful centre-back could leave, if West Ham make an offer which the Black Cats feel is of an acceptable price.
He said: “He has shown a good attitude.
“We have a value on his head and if nobody reaches that value, he will stay.
“Lamine has been questioned but he was outstanding the other night.”
Kone has proven to be an exceptional defender at Premier League level previously, but his standards dipped last term as Sunderland got relegated.
The Ivorian was expected to leave this summer, but Sunderland have kept hold of him so far.
Kone started in Sunderland’s first match of the campaign, which came against Derby County.
Kone looked assured in that contest, and he could be a stand out player in the Championship, if his proposed move to West Ham does not come off.
Kone could be in action again on Thursday evening, when Grayson’s side take on Bury in the League Cup.
