Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe is the Premier League’s highest scoring Englishman so far this season.
Black Cats boss David Moyes offered high praise for Jermain Defoe, during an interview with talkSPORT, and shared what he believes makes the hitman so dangerous.
The 34-year-old has been a revelation for Sunderland, since his move to the Stadium of Light in 2015, and has gone on to score 30 goals in 68 appearances for the Wearside outfit – a stat made all the more impressive when it is considered how much his side have struggled during that time.

And Moyes discussed Defoe’s incredible run of form, when speaking to talkSPORT, citing the English striker’s ability to use both feet as one of his key assets:
“He is a great goalscorer. He has got great power in his shooting, right or left foot, and overall he gives us a great chance. If you have someone who gets the goals that he does, it gives you a great chance of being in the lead.”
Quite where Sunderland would be without Defoe’s goals doesn’t bear thinking about.

One thing that has changed at the Stadium of Light this season si that Moyes has brought in someone who is capable of playing alongside Defoe – Victor Anichebe.
The 28-year-old striker has helped bring out the best in his striking partner, and with those two firing on all cylinders, the Black Cats have every chance of avoiding relegation this season.
Sunderland travel to Swansea City at the weekend, and will once again be relying on Defoe to help bring all three points back to the North-East.
