Leeds United and Sunderland both get their play off campaigns underway at the weekend.
Sunderland head into the play offs with an air of negativity around the club, after they missed out on automatic promotion, despite being well placed to claim a top two spot.
Leeds know that pain all too well, as Marcelo Bielsa’s late season collapse cost them a place in the Premier League.
Sunderland and Leeds now both go into the play offs with a sense of what might of been hanging over their heads.
But Ross insists that his side must get back to focusing on the chance ahead of them.
“It feels like we’re the only club in the country – I don’t mean internally where we’re working extremely hard for them – that isn’t embracing that we have these games,” he said.
“They usually create excitement. Clubs find themselves in the play-offs for all sorts of different reasons and I guess Leeds United is the closest example of being comparable to us because they spent the season in and around the top two.”

The Black Cats take on Portsmouth in the League One play offs, while Leeds take on Derby County.
