Sunderland boss Jack Ross is believed to be a potential option for West Bromwich Albion.

Sunderland boss Jack Ross’ comments to the Northern Echo seem to rule him out from taking over at West Bromwich Albion.

Ross has been heavily linked to the Hawthorns in recent weeks, with the Baggies on the look out for a new permanent manager.

But the Scot has seemingly suggested that even if Albion came in for him he would want to stick with Sunderland.

“I’ve said time and time again how much I enjoy this job, and also how much I’ve still got to do within it,” Ross said.

“For however long I’m here, that’s what I’ll be focused on, and my commitment to the job I’ve got to do here hasn’t changed. That’s the only thing I’m focused on and there’s still an awful lot of things I want to achieve at Sunderland football club.”

Ross only arrived at Sunderland in the summer, and he has done a credible job in his first season at the Stadium of Light.

Ross has arrested Sunderland’s slide down the league and made them promotion contenders in League One.

The Black Cats are currently in third place, but they do have a game in hand over their nearest rivals.

West Brom, meanwhile, are still hoping to bounce straight back from relegation and earn promotion in the Championship via the play offs.

Both Sunderland and West Brom are in action this weekend against Doncaster Rovers and Hull City respectively.
