Sunderland have won three of their last four games after a start to the season which saw them without a win in 10.
Sunderland manager David Moyes enjoyed another satisfying day at the office at the weekend as the Black Cats overcame champions Leicester City at the Stadium of Light, and seems to have seen evident improvement from the start of the season, the Sunderland Echo reports.
The results suggests there has been some significant improvement. Having only taken two points from 10 winless games at the start of the season, the Black Cats have won three of their last four to move within a point of safety – and things are now starting to look a lot brighter.

Moyes is quoted in the Sunderland Echo, saying: “I think we are showing that we can get up at people, get closer, run and get forward and do all the things you want the team to do.
“I didn’t always see that at the start [of the season].
“Things didn’t feel good earlier in the season – we weren’t winning.
“I thought we were a little bit unlucky in a couple of games.”
Luck might have it’s role to play – Robert Huth’s own goal to open the scoring is an example of that but there is also the notion that you make your own luck.

There certainly seems to be more belief from the side in the way they are playing which allows the side to be that bit more intense and intimidating for the opposition to face.
The presence of Victor Anichebe seems to have helped, and given Sunderland’s attack more presence and a focal point – as well as the obvious extra goal threat while defensively there are fewer errors and they are a little more organised.
Now there is a fresh wave of optimism about the club in light of recent results. Sunderland will hope to use the momentum this has generated to kick on and climb out of the drop zone.
