Everton are said to be close to completing the signing of Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
David Moyes has insisted to Sunderland’s official website that Jordan Pickford could still stay at the Stadium of Light.
Reports in the Northern Echo suggested that Pickford was set to sign for Everton in the summer transfer window.
The Toffees are believed to be plotting a £17 million move for the 23-year-old.

However, Moyes insisted that it was not inevitable that Pickford will leave – as he is still under contract at Sunderland.
“We can only lose the ones who are out of contract. Jordan Pickford is in contract, so no, there’s nothing to say that we will lose him,” Moyes said, when asked if it was inevitable that Pickford would leave.
Another player that has been reported to be set to leave Sunderland is Jermain Defoe.

Defoe is of interest to a number of Premier League clubs, and Moyes admits that there is a relegation release clause in the 34-year-old’s contract, which leaves Sunderland powerless.
“Defoe has a clause in his contract, so that’s different with him,” the Scottish boss added.
Defoe has netted 14 goals this season, leaving him at the top of the Sunderland’s scoring charts by a considerable distance.
