Could Everton’s Aiden McGeady and Preston North End’s Jordan Hugill join Simon Grayson at Sunderland in the summer transfer window?
McGeady, who is 31 years of age and operates as a winger, has returned to his parent club Everton following a loan spell at Preston North End in the Championship last season.
Hugill, who is 25 years of age and plays as a forward, has been on the books of Preston since 2014 and has developed into an important player for the Lilywhites.

Grayson worked with the Republic of Ireland international and the English forward at Preston last season, and he has suggested both the players could move to Sunderland this summer.
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, July 2, 2017), Everton are ready to do business with Sunderland over McGeady (click here to read more).
“Two players I’ve worked with before I’ve been linked with – it’s not going to be a problem attracting players to this club, they have to be the right players with their heart and soul in the club,’’ Grayson told The Northern Echo regarding McGeady and Hugill.
“They have to have a will to win, a never say die attitude. Every club I’ve been at it, a big part has been team spirit – those two have been linked and time will tell what happens.”
Sunderland will feature in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
The Black Cats will be aiming to finish in the playoffs at least, but it is going to be very hard for Grayson’s side.
