Sunderland face a battle to keep Anthony Patterson with both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City now interested.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that Patterson could end up in the Premier League come the end of the season.
Wolves and Leicester are expected to make moves for Patterson in the summer as they look to test Sunderland’s resolve.
It’s suggested that Sunderland would be seeking around £10million for Patterson if they were to sell him this summer.
Wolves would be viewing Patterson as a potential long-term successor to Jose Sa, competing with him to begin with at Molineux.
Leicester have been using Danny Ward as their replacement for Kasper Schmeichel this season but may still fancy Patterson as the long-term answer.
Sunderland won’t want to sell but if Patterson has a chance to rise to the Premier League, it will be hard to say no.

Patterson, 22, was born in North Shields up in the North East and joined the Sunderland ranks at a young age.
Patterson was around the first-team picture in the 2018-19 season and secured himself a contract at the end of that campaign.
The goalkeeper made his senior debut for Sunderland in an EFL Trophy game back in 2020 but went out on loan in 2021.
Patterson joined non-league side Notts County on loan between September and January, turning out 13 times for the Magpies.
Patterson has since become a key first-team player for Sunderland, playing 25 times last season and 30 times so far this term.
Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray has praised Patterson as a ‘top goalkeeper’ even at a young age and there should be much more development to come.
Patterson seems destined for the Premier League one day, and that may end up coming at the end of the season if Leicester or Wolves stump up the cash.
