Sunderland are said to be willing to pay £5 million for Aston Villa defender Micah Richards.

Sunderland supporters do not appear to be enthused by the rumours that they could be about to sign Aston Villa defender Micah Richards.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Sunderland are prepared to pay £5 million for Richards, as they look to bolster their defence.
However, the majority of Black Cats fans are not convinced that Richards would be a good addition.
Richards struggled to make a positive impression at Villa last season, with his performances being poor.
The powerful defender failed to save Villa from relegation, and he badly disappointed after joining from Manchester City.
Sunderland reportedly believe they could restore Richards back to his best.
However, it seems that if the reports are true, then the arrival of the England international would not go down well at the Stadium of Light.
Villa fans do appear to be happier with the reports though, and they are hoping that Richards leaves.
