Liverpool players should be buzzing about this evening’s encounter away to Manchester City.
It’s a massive clash at Eastlands and one that could potentially decide the destination of the Premier League title.
Liverpool are only one point behind the Sky Blues in the Premier League standings ahead of the final eight games of the season.
These are the games that motivate you as a footballer and although there may be some nerves, excitement should be the overriding emotion within both squads.
That’s certainly the case of Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian.
The Spanish stopper sent a tweet which perfectly sums up his excitement.
This sums up the 35-year-old goalkeeper.
The former West Ham United star knows damn well that he isn’t going to be playing against Guardiola’s troops, with Alisson obviously set to start.
In fact, Adrian isn’t even Jurgen Klopp’s second-choice keeper either after Caoimhin Kelleher’s heroics in the League Cup final earlier in 2022.
So why is Adrian so excited?
Because he is still a Liverpool player, regardless of whether he’s ever going to play for the Reds again.
Despite his lack of football under Klopp these past couple of years, he is emotionally invested and that’s the sort of atmosphere that the German manager has created on Merseyside.
And it’s that in-squad spirit which could see Liverpool bring three points back to Anfield.
