Ajax defender Devyne Rensch has ruled out a summer move to Premier League giants Liverpool or Arsenal while committing his future to the Eredivisie outfit.
After a highly-disappointing season for the Amsterdam outfit, the prospect of a summer without the sort of relentless speculation that has defined recent transfer windows at least means the dark clouds have a silvery lining.
Ajax lost a whole host of key figures both on and off the pitch after winning another Eredivisie title last year. This time around, only Jurrien Timber, Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez could realistically hope to secure a move away from the Johan Cruyff Arena, with the next generation of exciting, homegrown talent waiting in the wings and ready to make their mark.

Liverpool are eyeing Timber, and Give Me Sport believes 20-year-old Rensch is also on Jurgen Klopp’s radar. Ditto Arsenal, Sevilla and Brighton and Hove Albion (FootMercato).
But, having made over 30 first-team appearances for the first time in a single campaign across 2022/23, the once-capped Netherlands international is in no rush to follow Lisandro Martinez, Antony and co out the door.
Arsenal and Liverpool like Ajax defender Devyne Rensch
“I definitely have ambitions and future goals,” Rensch tells ELF Voetbal. “But I prefer to keep these to myself. I’m still with Ajax until mid-2025. I’m not done here yet and I still want to prove a lot here.”
The versatile right-back has scored three goals and set up one more this term; his highlight a stunning left-footed finish from outside the box against Excelsior.
Arsenal appear to be targeting a more natural right-back this summer, despite Ben White’s impressive evolution in a new role under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal are reportedly tracking the likes of Ridle Baku of Wolfsburg and Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey.
“One player I really like is Sacha Boey,” says former Arsenal and Man City ace Bacary Sagna; who knows a thing or two about thriving as a right-back in the Premier League.
“I think he would fit Arsenal perfectly. As a right back myself, I have to say I think he is amazing. I’m sure he is in the minds of many clubs to sign.”
