West Ham United have been linked with a summer move for Fulham right back Ryan Fredericks, who has links to hated rivals Millwall and Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham have shown interest in a number of Fulham players this season and have been linked with both Fredericks and his Cottagers teammate Tom Cairney.

The Hammers have turned a corner under boss David Moyes and look set to preserve their Premier League status after a rocky season.

West Ham’s interest in Fulham’s stars was knocked back in January but the Cottagers could be powerless to stop the East Londoners making Ryan Fredericks their first signing of the summer when the 25-year-old is available on a free transfer.

Fredericks, 25, has been a star for Fulham since his 2015 move from Bristol City, becoming one of the Championship‘s most impressive full backs whilst notching five assists in 30 games this season.

But what many Hammers fans might not know is Fredericks has links to both of the East London club’s most hated rivals Millwall and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Potters Bar-born defender has been something of a slow burner since turning professional with Spurs as an academy graduate.

Fredericks made his Spurs debut alongside Harry Kane and impressed for the North Londoners in a Europa League outing against Anzhi Makhachkala where he won a penalty in a 4-1 victory.

Injuries did not help his cause at White Hart Lane and he was sent on loan, first to Brentford and then to the Hammers’ arch rivals Millwall where he played 14 games and also scored the first and thus far only professional goal – a stunning match-winning lob from 30 yards out against Ipswich Town.

Another loan, this time at Middlesbrough, was followed by a short spell with Bristol City which lasted just four games before he returned to London with Fulham citing personal reasons behind his desire to move so soon.

He has been a star in West London ever since and a virtual ever present, making 90 appearances in two and a half seasons.
