Reportedly a target for Arsenal, their manager has now been quoted as saying the club have been following Antoine Griezmann for quite a while.
Antoine Griezmann is enjoying a remarkable year. The French winger has recently received a call-up to the national side for the upcoming friendly against Holland and he is in the midst of a season for Real Sociedad that has seen him score 15 goals in 23 La Liga games.
And not for the first time, this weekend saw him linked with a move away from his current club.
Reports originating in Spain and later picked up by the Daily Star claimed Arsenal were one of four clubs linked with the 22-year-old, along with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
And now Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has stoked the flames of this particular rumour with Telefoot reporting the following quotes from the Frenchman:
“We’ve followed Antoine Griezmann a long time.”
While that does not automatically mean Arsenal are readying a move, the young winger’s form this season is such that they would be wise to consider it.
Struggling for goals as they have been at times this season, a goal-getter of the calibre of Griezmann could be exactly what they need.
