West Ham United fans have grown tired of the continual unsubstantiated promises made by the club’s owners regarding potential new signings.

Hammers co-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold shared some exciting news for West Ham fans today, via a joint statement made on the club’s official website, confirming that season ticket prices for next term will be frozen, and that every penny they make from ticket sales will be reinvested in the playing squad.
Unfortunately for the club’s fans, it is a promise that will carry little meaning, after hearing the same message more than once on previous occasions, only to eventually be let down, – something that has led to a feeling of distrust and separation between the fanbase and the board.
But such is the incredible emotion and hope that is stirred amongst fans when it comes to the love of their team, the Hammers faithful will be hoping and praying that this summer will be different to last year, and the club actually bring in the players required to help them finish inside the European spots.
And Sullivan and Gold shared in a joint statement how they feel it is their responsibility to provide funds for Slaven Bilic to strengthen his playing squad accordingly, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
West Ham United co chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan with Vice Chairman Karren Brady
“Today, we are delighted to announce a price freeze for all Season Ticket Holders renewing for the 2017/18 campaign. We are intent on delivering success on the pitch for our supporters. Every single penny generated from Season Ticket sales will be re-invested in the playing squad, and we will be working hard in the summer transfer window to identify the players we believe will strengthen the team and bring us further success. As the custodians of this football club, we are absolutely committed to that objective.”
Obviously the proof will be in the pudding, but either way, something has to change regarding the type of player that West Ham target over the next couple of transfer windows.
And getting rid of some of the deadwood will arguably be just as important as the the quality of player they manage to bring into the club over the course of the summer.
