Saul Isaksson-Hurst has raved about Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun in The Athletic and has outlined his attributes.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea academy coach worked with Arsenal striker Balogun last summer.

Isaksson-Hurst works as a consultant to clubs such as Arsenal.

The 45-year-old ‘also does one-to-one sessions with young professionals to assist them outside of club training sessions’, according to The Athletic.

The coach has spoken highly of Balogun and has outlined what is so good about the 21-year-old Arsenal striker, who is on loan at Reims at the moment.

Isaksson-Hurst has said that the striker came to him because he was not getting specific attention at Arsenal with his finishing.

Balogun has scored 15 goals and given one assist in 19 Ligue 1 starts and has scored one goal in one Coupe de France match for Reims so far this season.

Saul Isaksson-Hurst on Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun

Isaksson-Hurst said about Balogun: “We did two or three sessions a week for two or three weeks in the summer. Then a few sessions when he was back for the break.

“He’s got such natural quality and finishing ability that it’s just about trying to stretch him and give him high-quality, position-specific, high-volume repetition sessions.

“He said he doesn’t get that sort of training at the clubs in terms of individual stuff because when you’re doing finishing drills, you may have 11 other players with you. That’s what I offer, that specific attention to detail with players.”

Exciting

Yes, Ligue 1 is not at the level of the Premier League, but it is still a major domestic league in Europe, and we believe that Arsenal fans should be excited about Folarin Balogun.

The striker is flourishing at Reims at the moment.

And it is very good news for Arsenal.

Manager Mikel Arteta has Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as the two main strikers now.

And Balogun would give the Arsenal boss another good option in attack next season.
