‘Such a shame’: Some Liverpool fans worried about 27-year-old’s situation after WBA draw

Liverpool fans have been left frustrated and worried after Joel Matip was forced off injured during his side’s 1-1 draw against West Brom tonight.

Matip, who is Liverpool’s only senior and available centre-back, started alongside Fabinho at Anfield and everything seemed to be going to plan for the German up until the hour mark.

That’s when Jurgen Klopp substituted his player with what looked like to be a muscle injury and it leaves those on Merseyside in an even more worrying position at the back.

Some Liverpool fans have made it clear that Klopp needs to dip into the January market next month and sign another centre-back.

Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are still injured whilst Matip seemingly cannot be trusted given his injury record.

But the questions remain whether another fresh face will come in because those from Merseyside have done a pretty solid job without their injured stars recently.

As for Matip, some Liverpool supporters are beginning to lose patience with the 27-year-old, who is seemingly spending more time on the sidelines than out on the pitch.
