Jody Morris has claimed that it would be a ‘shame’ if Liverpool forward Mo Salah is unable to make the Champions League final against Real Madrid after he picked up an injury in the FA Cup final.
In the first half, the heart of Liverpool fans would have been in their mouth when their wing wizard walked off the Wembley pitch.
One of the world’s best players had to resort to watching from the sidelines, as the Reds beat Chelsea on penalties for the second time in as many months.
But, in less than a few weeks, it’s the big one in Paris, when the Spanish champions Real Madrid await them for the biggest club competition of them all.
Ex-Chelsea coach Morris shared that he ‘loves’ Salah as a player and is hoping he can exact revenge against Madrid, as he told the Kick Off.
“From a Chelsea perspective, of course, you never want to see anybody injured,” said Morris.
“But you are quite happy when their best player is leaving the pitch.
“At the same time, for Liverpool and for Salah, I am absolutely gutted that he could be injured.
“I love him as a player and I think he has been outstanding. It will be such a shame if he’s (not in the Champions League). You absolutely want it to be lit it up with the world’s best.”

WILL MO SALAH PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL?
Out of all the Liverpool players, the one that HAS to play is Salah, especially after what happened last time out.
It’s just a shame that Sergio Ramos, who infamously played a part in Salah’s injury in that final, won’t be there because he is now in PSG colours.
But, as Joe Cole noticed went the Liverpool players were celebrating their FA Cup win, both Salah, and Virgil van Dijk, who also went off injured, seemed to be ‘moving well’ after that gruelling penalty shootout.
Either way, Salah will be one hungry animal in France and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he rips Real Madrid apart.
