Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter after it was confirmed on Wednesday evening that their game against Manchester United has been rearranged for Thursday, May 13 at 8:15 pm.
The game was initially set to be played last Sunday, only for protests from Manchester United fans resulting in their tie against Liverpool then being postponed.
Fans, from a number of clubs, across the country have protested against their owners in recent weeks, from Arsenal to Liverpool, but those at Old Trafford sent out a clear message to the Glazers by storming the pitch.
Manchester United v Liverpool is the heavyweight clash of English football and the biggest game on these shores.
And whilst nothing is riding on the game for those from Manchester, in regards to the title or the top-four, the same cannot be said for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Liverpool need the points to secure a Champions League finish, and whilst they don’t have any European commitments like Man United, they now also have a bit of a fixture pile-up heading into the final few weeks of the season.
Whilst Liverpool will be looking at those teams ahead of them in the table, there will also be a slight worry that if they slip up during these next few weeks then they might miss out of Europe altogether.
They are sitting in seventh place, with a game hand, with Everton one place and two points behind them in the table.
