Alan Smith has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira on Sky Sports Premier League (8:58pm, November 12, 2022) for his role in Martin Odegaard’s opening goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home on Saturday evening.
The former Arsenal star was impressed by Vieira’s assist for his Gunners’ teammate and fellow attacking midfielder Odegaard.
Norway international playmaker Odegaard opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 55th minute.
Gabriel Jesus found Vieira with a nice ball, and then the £30 million (Sky Sports) Portuguese player drew Wolves goalkeeper Joe Sa before putting in the ball for Odegaard to finish off.
And Smith, who was on co-commentary duty for the match on Sky Sports, was impressed.
Alan Smith on Fabio Vieira for Arsenal assist for Martin Odegaard
Smith said in the 55th minute: “It is a lovely bit of skill and composure actually at the death just to dink it over Sa. He is such a clever technician.”

Impressive
In our opinion, Arsenal attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira played well against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday evening.
The 22-year-old started the match on the bench and came early on in the first half for Granit Xhaka.
The Portuguese youngster played some lovely passes, and his assist for Odegaard was wonderful.
Vieira moved to Arsenal from FC Porto in the summer of 2022 and is not guaranteed a place in the Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup at the moment.
However, the youngster is doing well when he is being called into action, and Arsenal fans will be pleased with his development and growth as a footballer.
