Liverpool fans on Twitter are raving about one Everton new boy.

James Rodriguez lit up Goodison Park with a stunning home Premier League debut as Carlo Ancelotti’s side beat West Brom 5-2.

It was Dominic Calvert-Lewin who stole much of the headlines with a brilliant hat-trick, but Liverpool fans are singing the praises of the South American attacker on social media.

Rodriguez opened his account for Everton with a long-range strike from outside the box before the half-time break, giving the Toffees a narrow 2-1 lead.

Then, in the second half, the former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star bagged a wonderful assist for Calvert-Lewin to complete his treble on 66 minutes.

Given the CV that he brought to Merseyside, the Colombia international is easily the most high-profile player who Everton have signed this summer.

And some Liverpool fans on Twitter have put loyalties to one side to admit that the 28-year-old looks like a class addition by Ancelotti.

That’s six points from a possible six for the Blues and going by their form, it could be a great season for them.

You could take a 5-2 win over a newly-promoted outfit – who had 10 men for more than half the game – with a pinch of salt, but Everton also beat Tottenham away from home last week.

The addition of Rodriguez has really lifted morale within the squad and long may it last from their perspective.
