Ex-Aston Villa man Gareth Barry broke the Premier League appearance record for West Bromwich Albion last night.

Stylian Petrov has congratulated Gareth Barry, after his former Aston Villa teammate broke the Premier League appearance record last night.
Barry played his 633rd Premier League game for West Bromwich Albion against Arsenal yesterday, as he surpassed Ryan Giggs’ landmark.
And Petrov, who played with Barry at Villa in their younger years, was quick to praise the midfielder.
Barry’s record breaking Premier League appearance did not go the way he was hoping, as West Brom fell to a defeat against Arsenal.
The Baggies lost 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, despite putting in a credible performance and causing the Gunners some problems.

West Brom fell behind in the first half when Alexandre Lacazette headed home, and the French striker added another in the second-half to seal the triumph.
Barry’s new West Brom side are now in 12th place in the Premier League table, after winning two of their first six league matches.
