Leeds United have been linked with the Romanian midfielder.
As recently reported by Stuttgarter Nachrichten, Leeds United have been in talks to sign Romanian attacking midfielder Alexandru Maxim, and now the same publication has published comments from Stuttgart’s manager about the ongoing transfer speculation.
“If a club comes, we must certainly talk about it,” Hannes Wolf told Stuttgarter Nachrichten.
“We have too many similar types of players. That is why the doors for him (Maxim) have not been open here.”

Maxim has featured 16 times for Stuttgart in the German second tier this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists in the process, but he has struggled for opportunities in recent months and has only played more than 60 minutes on seven occasions to date.
At 26, Maxim will be hoping to play week in, week out, and Leeds could certainly offer him that, assuming they can find a way to accommodate both him and Pablo Hernandez in the same starting XI.
Maxim is predominantly an attacking midfielder although he can operate on either flank, making him particularly enticing to Leeds.

It remains to be seen what new co-owner Andrea Radrizzani will do at Elland Road in the current transfer window.
However with Maxim struggling for game time and his manager admitting he has too many players for one position, a move is not beyond the realms of possibility.
