Nat Phillips might’ve been bossing the Champions League recently, but Liverpool team-mate James Milner certainly had his number in training on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to post footage of an excellent goal at the Axa Training Centre.
Milner latched on to a through ball and dummied his centre-back team-mate, who slid nonetheless, before the evergreen midfielder slotted past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson who also fell for the trick.
Despite being in the twilight of his career, the former England international clearlystill has a trick up his sleeve and can deceive much younger players.
Here’s how Milner reacted to the goal on Instagram:
Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge saw the funny side of Milner’s post, simply responding ‘Lol’ followed by a laughing-face emoji.
And as for Phillips himself, he also saw the funny side and wrote ‘Reported’ in response to the midfielder.
It’s been a dreadful defence of their Premier League title for Liverpool, who are now focusing on a top-four finish.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are seventh in the table and five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, resume their Champions League qualification bid with a trip to Arsenal on Sunday.
