Tottenham Hotspur fans think that John Stones has made an error by apparently rejecting the idea of a loan move to them.
The Daily Star claim that Tottenham were interested in the City centre-back on deadline day, but Stones wasn’t keen on the idea.
Stones wants to stick around and fight for his place at the Etihad Stadium.
But Tottenham supporters feel that the England international has made an error by not taking his chance to join Jose Mourinho’s side.
Stones’ chances of playing may have been far greater at Tottenham than City.
Pep Guardiola seems to have settled upon Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte as his first-choice defensive pairing, with Nathan Ake being first reserve.
Mourinho, meanwhile, still seems to be searching for his first choice pairing at the back, although Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have been favoured recently.
Tottenham ended up failing to sign a central defender on deadline day, but they could bring in a player in the position over the coming weeks.
