The biggest transfer of the summer could put Arsenal and Tottenham’s resolve over star players to the test.

Barcelona forward Neymar is edging closer to a world record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, The Guardian report.

It is a move which could have major knock on effects, leaving Barcelona, one of the world’s biggest clubs, with a huge transfer kitty.

Liverpool attacker Coutinho been linked with a move to the Nou Camp over the past few days, with Goal reporting the Reds are determined not to sell.

But Liverpool are not the only club with reason to worry about Barcelona luring one of their star players.

North London duo should be on their toes

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is on Barcelona’s list of transfer targets with the Neymar money, Spanish outlet Don Balon report.

The former Real Madrid attacker could thrive tasked with supplying Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, and still has only one year remaining on his contract at Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil of Arsenal runs to take a corner kick during the match between the Western Sydney Wanderers and Arsenal FC at ANZ Stadium on July 15, 2017 in Sydney, Australia.

A serious bid from Barcelona would be a test of the commitment of both Ozil and Arsenal to one another.

Tottenham too have reason to worry. While Barcelona are reportedly keen on Dele Alli according to The Sun, Christian Eriksen is a far more realistic target.

The Mirror reported earlier this summer that Eriksen is open to a move to the Nou Camp, with the midfielder telling Ekstra Bladet: “I don’t think there a lot of players who would say no to Barcelona.”

Tottenham hold all the cards with regards to Eriksen’s contract, but if a stunning offer in excess of £70 million came in for the Dane, could chairman Daniel Levy resist taking the money?

It will be better for both Arsenal and Tottenham if Liverpool are the ones to cave in and sell, but if they do not, then the Spanish giants could well turn their attention to North London.
