Steven Gerrard has been singing the praises of ‘stunning’ Rangers attacker Joe Aribo.
The 24-year-old had a decent first season at Ibrox last term, scoring nine goals and setting up another eight across all competitions.
But the former Charlton Athletic star is setting the tone for a better 2020-21 campaign for Rangers after his eye-catching displays in recent weeks.
Aribo dazzled in and scored during a 4-0 win over Motherwell earlier this month, before finding the net again in some style against Coventry City last weekend.
For that goal, he danced around the edge of the box, evading challenges, before playing a one-two with Alfredo Morelos and rifling home from 12 yards.
Here’s what Gerrard told a pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Aberdeen about the Nigeria international:
Nobody can deny that Gerrard has some cracking players in his Rangers squad, Aribo being up there with the best of them.
Quality has never been the issue – it’s consistency that cost the Gers last season and could cost them again this time around unless they’re focused from August until May.
There’s no margin for error this time, as Celtic could win a 10th Premiership title in a row come next summer if Rangers aren’t at it.
