Leeds United were busy in the transfer market this summer, and some of the most interesting addition to this side were in the attack.

Luis Sinisterra was the headline signing of the summer, while Leeds also wanted to sign a new number nine in the shape of Charles De Ketelaere.

Indeed, Andrea Radrizzani himself admitted that Leeds had bid for De Ketelaere, but sadly, it wasn’t to be.

Luckily though, Leeds did end up with Sinisterra, and according to CIES’ latest study, the Colombian may actually be a more impactful signing than the Belgian.

The Football Observatory have released their latest study attempting to find the most impactful players under the age of 25 in world football, and both Sinisterra and De Ketelaere made the list.

Interestingly, both of these players were categorised as ‘All-rounder target men’ due to their tendency to win attacking aerial duels, take shots, create chances, take on defenders and play key passes.

Both Sinisterra and De Ketelaere were put into this category, and according to the numbers, Sinisterra is actually the more impactful of the two players.

The South American ranked as the fourth-most impactful ‘All-rounder target man’ under the age of 25, scoring 82.6 out of 100, while De Ketelaere scored slightly lower at 81.8.

Both of those scores are very respectable, and it only makes us think that it’s a real shame that these two won’t get the chance to play together at Leeds after De Ketelaere snubbed a move to Elland Road.

However, while they didn’t manage to land De Ketelaere, they got their hands on Sinisterra, and while stats aren’t always the be-all and end-all when it comes to analysing football, this study has concluded that Leeds have ended up with the more impactful attacker as they landed Sinisterra rather than De Ketelaere.
