Everton are said to be closing in on a deal to sign Burnley defender Michael Keane.
And Pearce believes that the Toffees are making a superb signing, by bringing in Keane from Turf Moor.

Pearce said: “I’ve got to say, if Everton get there before any of the top four, five or six, I’d be astounded. I saw him at the back end of last season, and he had grown so much as a player.
“If I was one of the bigger sides, I’d get him and sign him before Everton.
“I think if Everton get there before them they have signed a very good player, and he maybe will move on for even bigger money in the future.”
Everton are believed to be willing to pay £25 million to snap up Keane from Burnley, as per the Mail.
Keane is likely to be brought straight into Everton’s first-team, if he does move to Goodison Park.
Ronald Koeman is known to be looking to strengthen his defence this summer, with Keane likely to partner Ashley Williams next term.
Everton have been one of the most active teams in the Premier League so far this summer.
The Toffees have already brought in Davy Klaassen and Jordan Pickford recently, but more new signings are set to follow in the near future.
