Stuart Pearce has launched a blistering attack on West Ham United’s owners after telling TalkSPORT that he did not meet either Karren Brady or David Sullivan during his seven-month spell at the London Stadium.
Former Manchester City and Nottingham Forest manager Pearce was drafted in by David Moyes after the Scottish boss was brought in to replace Slaven Bilic towards the end of 2017.
He remained in the role until Moyes’ sacking last month, which has since seen former Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini take over as Hammers manager.
Co-owners Sullivan, Brady and David Gold continue to come in for huge criticism from West Ham fans, and Pearce has added fuel to the fire by lambasting two of the three owners during an interview on Alan Brazil’s Breakfast Show.
“I never met Mr. Sullivan or Karren Brady in the seven months I was there,” Pearce said. “I never met them once. “If I owned a football club, or ran any organisation, I’d make it my business to welcome new faces into the football club. The working environment is the training ground.
“Unless they decided Mr. Gold is going to be the face of the board, and he’s going to be the one to come in – and to be fair, he’s very, very personable, and he used to come to every game and pop into the dressing room after games.
“I can’t speak for David [Moyes]… he had links with all three. But from a personal view I never met two of the three in the seven months I was there.”
Alongside Moyes, Pearce helped take West Ham from the relegation zone to a comfortable 13th place, helping shore up a leaky defence and bringing out the best in underperforming stars such as Marko Arnautovic and Mark Noble.
Despite Moyes’ turnaround, the West Ham board decided not to hand the former Manchester United and Everton manager a new deal with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
