Stuart Pearce shares his worry about West Ham United next season

West Ham United currently look set to avoid relegation from the Premier League this term.

Stuart Pearce has told the Debate, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 16th April, that he has one big worry for next season at West Ham United.

West Ham look set to narrowly avoid relegation this term, after drawing their last match with Stoke City to take a big step towards safety.

But Pearce feels that the Hammers need to be concerned about next season already.

With Wolverhampton Wanderers already promoted from the Championship, it appears that the likes of Cardiff City, Fulham or Aston Villa could follow them into the top flight.

And Pearce feels that the three teams that come up could all be well placed to avoid relegation next term.

“I would worry that the three teams that come up will have another impact like these three [the teams promoted last season] and put even more pressure on the established teams. I throw West Ham into that, and Watford.” the Hammers assistant manager admitted.

Huddersfield, Brighton and Newcastle came up last term, and all three clubs look likely to avoid the drop.

West Ham, meanwhile, are now seven points clear of the relegation zone, with just five matches remaining this season.

David Moyes’ side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
