The Tottenham Hotspur ace is one of the finest midfield play-makers in the game.

Assistant Coach Stuart Pearce yells out instructions during practice on March 13, 2018 in Miami, Florida.

Stuart Pearce raved about Christian Eriksen, when speaking to talkSPORT yesterday, labelling the Tottenham ace as ‘immense’.

The Dane, who earns £75,000 per week according to Spotrac, has been one of Spurs’ best players since moving to north London in the summer of 2013 for around £11.5 million, but he faces an uncertain future at the club.

Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham is due to expire in the summer of 2020, and he has been heavily linked with an exit from the club, with the Times reporting that Daniel Levy could accept around £50 million for his services before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs fans will be hoping to see the 27-year-old in action against Manchester City today, however, regardless of his current situation, and Stuart Pearce highlighted the play-maker’s quality, when talking about how the north London outfit can hurt the Premier League champions today, when speaking to talkSPORT yesterday:

Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino head coach

“They are expected to rival Man City and Liverpool this season and improve on what they did last year. And they’ve got enough talent – Eriksen is immense – in their ranks to hurt Man City, there’s no doubt about that.”

Pochettino will obviously want to keep hold of Eriksen, but the decision might be taken out of his hands by the club’s board.

The Denmark international can still sign a new contract, however, and remain in north London for the foreseeable future.

And that is something that Tottenham fans really would love to see happen.
