Former Newcastle United and West Ham United defender Stuart Pearce suggested on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, August 22, 2016) that Nottingham Forest should have retained the services of Dorus de Vries.
De Vries left Championship club Forest to join Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in the summer transfer window.
As announced on Celtic’s official website earlier this month, Brendan Rodgers’s side signed the goalkeeper on a two-year contract.

Former Forest manager Pearce believes that losing the 35-year-old ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper could prove to be costly for the Reds.
“They have conceded three goals down at Brighton, they have conceded three goals in both their home games,” said Pearce on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, August 22, 2016) while discussing Forest’s start to the season.
“So they have got to tighten up defensively, sold De Vries to Celtic, which could be costly. Whether they get a replacement in or not or roll with (Stephen) Henderson I am not sure.”

During the 2015-16 campaign, De Vries kept 11 clean sheets in 43 Championship matches for Forest.
Back in 2014-15, the goalkeeper made just four Championship appearances for the Reds.
During the 2013-14 campaign, the Dutchman kept one clean sheet in three league matches for Forest.
Forest are 11th in the Championship table at the moment with six points from four matches, level on points with sixth-placed Queens Park Rangers.
The Reds will take on Millwall away from home at The Den in the second round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.
