Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United side have lost their first four Premier League matches.

Stuart Pearce manager of Nottingham Forest looks on prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage on January 21, 2015 in London, England.

Stuart Pearce has told The Debate, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 4th September, that West Ham United will be comfortable in the Premier League this season.

West Ham have lost their first four league matches, which has led to concerns that they could be dragged into a relegation.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have looked weak at the back, and they have struggled going forward over the opening few weeks of the season.

And even though Pearce does see problems with West Ham’s tactics, he believes the London side will have no trouble staying above the bottom three.

He said: “I think they’ll be comfortable with the squad they’ve got of staying in the division, there’s no doubt in my mind about that.

“I think they’re playing too loose in midfield and at the back and leaving themselves open. They have good footballers to hurt teams, but you can’t leave the back door open.”

West Ham’s latest defeat came against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as they put in yet another poor performance.

Adama Traore struck a winner against the Hammers in the last minute to inflict further misery on the side.

West Ham now have the two week international break to recover from that defeat, with the squad being granted time off by Pellegrini.

When the Hammers do return to action they face a tough test against Everton.

The London Stadium is seen ahead of the English Premier League football match between West Ham United and Swansea City at The London Stadium, in east London on April 8, 2017.
