The Tottenham Hotspur striker looks set to be out for the reminder of the season.

Former England football player, Stuart Pearce speaks during day two of Soccerex Asia on December 5, 2016 in Doha, Qatar.

Stuart Pearce suggested that Mauricio Pochettino’s reaction to Harry Kane’s injury on Tuesday night summed up all there is to know about the Englishman’s importance to Tottenham, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ The Debate last night.

The 25-year-old has firmly established himself as Spurs’ most important player over the past few years, scoring an incredible 164 goals in 252 appearances in all competitions in the process.

Kane has suffered his fair share of injury problems, however, with his left ankle proving to be rather troublesome.

Pearce explained how the Argentine’s reaction to Kane’s twisted ankle proves just how important the striker is to Spurs, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ The Debate last night:

“Losing your best players is always a blow and Pochettino’s reaction to the challenge suggests it is a big blow for Tottenham. But when Kane doesn’t play it gives Son the licence to run behind and you always need someone to run behind like he does.”

Tottenham have some vitally important games on the horizon, and Pochettino will surely opt to play Heung-Min Son through the middle during Kane’s absence.

Whether the South Korean is up for the challenge, however, remains to be seen.
