Jack Wilshere would have been hoping that a move to West Ham United would breathe fresh life into a career that has been torn apart by relentless injury problems.

Unfortunately, however Wilshere’s body continues to let him down.

One of the great homegrown talents of his generation has managed just five minutes of football since suffering an ankle injury in September and, in another heartbreaking blow, is set for yet more time on the sidelines.

According to The Mirror, Wilshere damaged his other ankle in training and is now set for a lengthy absence.

And, speaking to talkSPORT (14 December, 9.30am), West Ham legend Staurt Pearce has a theory about what is causing Wilshire’s problems – and admits that he feels for a player who was tipped to achieve so much in the game.

“You look at the gait of his feet, he’s got almost pigeon toes. I wonder whether there’s something mechanically wrong, he’s had so many problems with his ankles,” Pearce said.

“It’s a real shame because he has been a real talent that has probably been start-stop and held up in his journey in football.”

The Mirror reports that Wilshere is earning £100,000 a week at West Ham and it seems that he is already up against it to prove his worth to the club.

Back in September, The Times claimed that The Hammers’ owners, Davids Gold and Sullivan, were far from impressed by both Wilshere and fellow midfielder Carlos Sanchez, who is set to miss the next few months too.
