West Ham United could only pick up a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough last weekend.

Stuart Pearce has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 3rd October, that West Ham United’s full-backs were not good enough against Middlesbrough at the weekend.
West Ham could only pick up a draw against Boro, as their poor run of form continued.
The Hammers have won just once in the Premier League so far this season, and frustrations are mounting at the London Stadium.

Although they avoided defeat against Middlesbrough, the result was still a disappointing one for West Ham fans.
And Pearce said: “They have lost confidence in what they are trying to achieve. The full backs didn’t offer enough going forward, and they missed Cresswell. They need to regain their confidence from last season.”
West Ham started the match with Sam Byram and Angelo Ogbonna as their two full-backs, but Byram was forced off with injury early on.

Alvaro Arbeloa came on to replace Byram, but he did not offer too much going forward.
Cresswell is gradually making his return to full health, after missing much of the season so far, and his return to fitness will be a very welcome boost for West Ham.
