Wolverhampton Wanderers are going from strength to strength under Nuno Espirito Santo’s leadership.
Former Premier League manager Stuart Pearce has claimed that Wolves’ style of play will suit European football after they secured a top seven spot in the Premier League over the weekend.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who were only promoted to England’s top-flight last season, have enjoyed a brilliant return to the promised land.
On Saturday, the Midlands outfit recorded a narrow win against already-relegated Fulham to potentially secure Europa League football for next season.
Speaking to TalkSport’s Football Phone-In (04/05/2019 at 7:45 pm), Pearce spoke about Wolves playing in Europe and their remarkable rise in these last few years.
“Their style of play will be very effective in European football,” Pearce told TalkSport. “They have got a really good cutting edge. They have great experience within their ranks as well. It will be interesting to see the recruitment [in the summer].
“The last two seasons for that football club have been so solid. It has been absolutely incredible.”
The rise of Wolves in recent seasons has been pretty remarkable and their manager deserves huge credit for seemingly doing it with relative ease.
During the summer of 2017, Nuno joined a club that had just finished mid-table under the stewardship of Paul Lambert and he guided them to champions during that following season.
And now they will be playing European football next term as their next step will be to try and break into the top-six and potentially securing Champions League football.
