Wolverhampton Wanderers parted company with Kenny Jackett before the start of the season.
Stuart Pearce has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 3rd November, that Wolverhampton Wanderers made a mistake by sacking Kenny Jackett.
Wolves parted company with Jackett before the season started, as they felt they had better options elsewhere.
The Midlands side decided to appoint Walter Zenga, but the Italian did not have the desired impact.
Zenga has already lost his job at Molineux, with Wolves sitting just outside the relegation zone in the Championship.
And Pearce believes that Wolves should never have tried to upgrade Jackett, as he was doing such a good job.
“I still think Wolves have missed a trick moving Kenny Jackett on,” Pearce said. “I think he did a very good job over a number of years.”
Wolves have been linked with a number of managers, since parting company with Zenga.
One of the front runners for the job is believed to be Nigel Pearson, and Pearce feels that the former Leicester City boss has proven that he can build a good squad.
“He [Pearson] assembled a very good squad at Leicester,” he added.
“Things didn’t work out for him at Derby, which is the nature of football in the Championship.”
