Leeds United are currently in seventh place in the Championship table.

Stuart Pearce has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 21st November, that he believes Leeds United will be challenging for promotion in May.

Leeds have impressed over recent weeks, and they currently sit in seventh place in the Championship table.

Although Pearce believes that making a push for the title will be out of their reach, he does feel that Leeds could challenge at the right end of the table.

“I think they will be there or thereabouts,” the former Nottingham Forest boss said. “As for the Championship, I think it will be a step too far. But it’s good to see them with a modicum of stability. Monk has offered stability to the club, and that’s what they needed.”

Leeds lost their last match against league leaders Newcastle United 2-0, to slip out of the play off places.

However, the Whites are still one of the form sides in the Championship after an impressive opening to the campaign.

Leeds have won nine of their last 13 matches to increase optimism around Elland Road.

Leeds are currently just one point behind the top six, with their next match coming against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium on Saturday.
