Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers side are already said to be trying to bring James Collins to Ibrox.

Pearce worked at West Ham United with Collins last season, but the pair have both been let go by the Premier League side this summer.
Rangers have already been touted as a potential destination for the veteran centre-back, with Steven Gerrard said to be looking at bringing him to Ibrox in the Scottish Sun.

And when asked whether Rangers should sign Collins by Ally McCoist, Pearce said: “He’s got a wealth of experience, he offers some leadership qualities as well. It’s just keeping him fit, he had a lot of little niggles. If you got him fit, he’d certainly be a good player to have in your ranks.”
Rangers are thought to be looking to improve their options at centre-back for next season.
Rangers struggled to find a consistent pairing at the heart of their defence over the past campaign.

If Collins was brought to Rangers he would be in competition with the likes of Ross McCrorie, Fabio Cardoso and Bruno Alves for a first-team place.
Collins made 13 Premier League appearances for West Ham last term, and many were disappointed when he was allowed to leave the London Stadium.
