Aston Villa are on the look out for a new manager, after parting company with Roberto Di Matteo.
Stuart Pearce has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 3rd October, that Aston Villa should appoint Steve Bruce.
Villa parted company with Roberto Di Matteo early today, after a poor start to the season.
The Claret and Blues have won just once in the Championship this term, and currently sit in 19th place in the table.
Villa are already 10 points behind the play off places, and they are under pressure to find their feet.
Pearce feels that the Midlands club now need someone with experience, and he has backed Bruce to be a success, if given the job.
“If it’s not Steve Clarke then it’s Steve Bruce. He lives in the area, has a fantastic track record and I think he would drive there himself to take the job,” Pearce said.
Bruce has been out of work since leaving Hull City last summer, and he has a vast amount of experience of getting teams out of the Championship.
Bruce guided Hull to the Premier League twice, and has a proven track record in the second tier.
Robbie Savage also feels that Villa should appoint Bruce, as they look to get their season back on track.
