Rangers have brought George Edmundson and Joe Aribo to Ibrox.

Former Rangers boss Stuart McCall has told The Scottish Sun that he’s a big fan of Ibrox new boys George Edmundson and Joe Aribo.
The Gers have secured seven signings this summer, bringing in Steven Davis, Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, Greg Stewart and Sheyi Ojo before then securing Edmundson and Aribo.
Steven Gerrard remained patient in his pursuit of both players, as it was a real battle to fend off interest from other clubs in the duo.
It’s a massive step up for both players, maybe not in on-pitch quality, but in terms of the pressure and fanbases; midfielder Aribo is coming from League One, whereas Edmundson is making an even bigger jump, from League Two.
Rangers fans may not know too much about their new signings, even with some massively excited about signing 10-goal midfielder Aribo, but one man who does know them is McCall.
The former Gers player and boss managed with Scunthorpe United last season, meaning he went up against Aribo in League One, with the midfielder scoring twice against McCall’s side.
McCall has now praised Aribo, comparing his attacking runs to those of Rangers star Scott Arfield, adding that the move is perfect for him and he could earn Rangers massive profit, even criticising Lee Bowyer’s comments.

McCall added that he was actually scouting defender Edmundson for Scunthorpe last season, and feels he’s a solid defender with decent pace for a centre back, but it’s down to both players to handle the expectation levels at Ibrox.
“I remember Joe scoring two goals against us for Charlton when we won 5-3 and I was impressed by him,” said McCall. “He’s a box-to-box midfielder who likes to get on the end of things, a little bit like Scott Arfield at the end of last year. When you look at the teams interested in him, Rangers have done well to get him. Charlton were desperate to keep him, but I don’t agree with their boss Lee Bowyer’s comments that Rangers is the wrong move for him. It is the perfect move for him. He has potential and if he can come in and reach that then Rangers could sell him for a big profit in a few years.”
“I remember going to watch George around December time and he was a solid player. He is strong in the tackle and he is quick for a centre-half. He is another one who has plenty of potential, but it’s a bit different playing in front of 4,000 at Oldham and 50,000 at Ibrox. For me they are both good additions, but they have to be able to handle the expectancy of being at a club like Rangers,” he added.
