Ex-Rangers boss Stuart McCall has been discussing his time at Ibrox.

Ex-Rangers boss Stuart McCall has told Open Goal that he was ‘really disappointed’ when midfielder Andy Murdoch was overlooked by Mark Warburton.
The Gers have come along way in the last few years, as back in 2015, they were getting past Queen of the South and Hibernian in the Scottish Championship play-offs.
Rangers fell short against Motherwell that year, but were taken over by Dave King, and then brought in Mark Warburton as their new boss, leading them back to the top flight.
Warburton took over from Stuart McCall, with the ex-Gers midfielder returning to save his former club after Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall left the club.
Formerly of Motherwell, McCall arrived and steadied the ship at Ibrox when Rangers were at their lowest ebb, and at least took the Gers to the final stage of the play-offs.
Now, McCall has looked back on that time in his career, and admitted that he thought midfielder Andy Murdoch was ‘terrific’ during his time at Ibrox, praising him as the most consistent player in the squad.

McCall added that he was really disappointed that Rangers and Warburton overlooked Murdoch in the next season, feeling that he could have really developed into a first-team regular at Ibrox.
“We were playing little Andy Murdoch, he was probably our most consistent player,” said McCall. “I was really disappointed the year after, that they brought a couple of loans in, because I thought that Murdoch could have been one that could have been given a chance, because he was terrific for us,” he added.
Warburton didn’t use Murdoch at all, sending him out on loan to Cowdenbeath and Queen of the South before releasing him in 2016. Now with Ayr United, the 24-year-old hasn’t enjoyed great success just yet, but clearly has one big fan in McCall.
