Leeds United failed to win against Ipswich Town in the Championship at the weekend.
Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas has admitted to The Yorkshire Evening Post that the players were tired against Ipswich Town at the weekend.
The West Yorkshire outfit played out a 1-1 draw with Ipswich away from home at Portman Road in the Championship last Saturday afternoon.
Dallas, who is 25 years of age and can also operate as an attacking midfielder, scored in the 42nd minute to help his side pick up a point.
The Northern Ireland international has admitted that there were tired legs in the match.
“It was important that we came here and didn’t get beat,” Dallas told The Yorkshire Evening Post after the match.
“Obviously we wanted to win the game but if you can’t win it then you’ve got to make sure you don’t lose and we showed again that we’ve got a great determination.
“There were a few tired legs and I think in the end we kind of settled for a point but it’s a good point for us and it gives us something to build on.
“Coming here isn’t easy, against a good Ipswich team, a physical team, and on a pitch that wasn’t really suitable for playing football. We dug in.”
Should Leeds United fans be worried?
While one can understand why Leeds decided to settle for a draw against Ipswich, it is concerning that the players were tired.
The Championship is a notoriously tough and competitive domestic league, but the players should be fit to give their all for the entire 90 minutes.
Although Leeds are going strong in the league at the moment and are in the playoffs, there is still a long way to go this season and things could do wrong.
Head coach Garry Monk has to make sure that tiredness does not play a role in the team’s performances in the final weeks and months of the season.
