Leeds United are fifth in the Championship at the moment.
Stuart Dallas has told The Yorkshire Evening Times he believes that he was on the brink of being substituted shortly before his match-winning assist on Saturday.
Leeds United edged out Brentford at Elland Road as Kyle Bartley nodded home an 89th-minute winner which took the Whites up to fifth in the Championship table.
Dallas was the man who swung in the cross which led to Bartley’s winner, after a short corner, and the 25-year-old midfielder, who has struggled with injury this season, reveals that manager Garry Monk had planned on taking him off before setting up the centre-back.

“I feel good. Saturday wasn’t my best game and I think maybe I was ready for being taken off just before the corner!” he told The YEP.
“But I feel good and I have always said that I am only going to get better and fitter obviously with the more minutes that I get.
“I’ve just got to work hard and keep my head down because we have got real competition in this squad and that brings out the best players.”

Indeed, Leeds are fifth in the Championship and they will be hoping to maintain their top-six status over the festive schedule.
Monk’s side visit Preston North End on Boxing Day, before travelling to Aston Villa on December 29 in two tricky games which will further test United’s promotion bid.
Two defeats wouldn’t be detrimental, considering there is literally half of a season left, but a couple of victories would surely make Leeds fans a whole lot more excited about the prospect of playing Premier League football next season.
