The Leeds United winger set up Bartley for the winner v Brentford.

Leeds United took on Brentford today, winning 1-0 against the Bees at Elland Road.

It was a tough game and in the end it took a header from Kyle Bartley in the 89th minute to give Leeds the win.

It was a goal set up by a peach of a cross from former Brentford player Stuart Dallas. It was great vision from the Northern Ireland international to pick out Bartley, who then did brilliantly to keep his header on target and give Leeds all three points.

But despite his major impact on the final result, Dallas was not pleased.

Speaking to BBC Leeds after the game the winger made it clear he felt he had a poor match, but was pleased Bartley put away his assist:

“The noise when that goal went in nearly lifted the roof off. The scenes at the end were scenes of relief.

“I’ve had an assist today but I was disappointed in how I played. I am my own biggest critic and today wasn’t my best game. It’s not about any individual, though. It’s a great feeling whenever you win a game.”

Dallas had a difficult start to this season. He struggled after a summer in which he played with Northern Ireland at the European Championships in France and also got married to his childhood sweetheart.

But new Leeds boss Garry Monk gave Dallas some time out the first-team to get back into the right shape and it is now starting to pay off as his performances improve – even if he doesn’t think so.
