Leeds winger Dallas has suffered with a number of injuries at the start of the season.
Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas has told the Belfast Telegraph that he felt good after completing just his second 90 minutes of the 2018-19 campaign during Northern Ireland’s 2-1 loss to Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Dallas, 27, has struggled with a number of injuries during the first part of the season, managing only two substitute appearances in the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa.
In total, the former Brentford winger has only clocked up three appearances for Leeds this season, with the likes of Jack Harrison, Gjanni Alioski and Pablo Hernandez ahead of him in the pecking order.
Indeed, Dallas’ only 90 minutes came in the Carabao Cup loss to Preston. Making his fourth club and country appearance of the season against Bosnia in the Nations League, Dallas admitted he was tired but feeling good.
“I enjoyed being back out there, we haven’t been at Windsor for a long time,” Dallas said. “And certainly for myself, I’ve had a slow start to the season with injuries, I’ve only just come back, which is disappointing.
“I felt good, maybe tired a bit towards the end but I just enjoyed being out there. I didn’t enjoy the result but it’s a good 90 minutes for me and hopefully I can push on now.”
Leeds have started the 2018-19 season in excellent form, remaining unbeaten in the league after six matches and sitting at the top of the Championship table with 14 points from six games.
They face a difficult test to keep that run going on Saturday, as they travel south to face bitter rivals Millwall at The Den. The Lions have won the last four meetings at their home stadium – a record Bielsa will be looking to end.
Dallas could be in action for Northern Ireland again on Tuesday night, as they play host to Israel at Windsor Park.
