Stuart Dallas might need an excellent last weeks to save Leeds United career.

Stuart Dallas hasn’t had a glittering Leeds United career since joining under Uwe Rosler in 2015.

But the Northern Ireland winger is Mr Reliable – and Leeds badly need him to continue in that vein over the next few weeks.

Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that Dallas would start at left-back in Sunday’s visit of Aston Villa.

Bielsa is already without all three of his natural left-back options – Barry Douglas, Ezgjan Alioski and now Leif Davis – so this is a big yet unexpected chance for the former Brentford winger.

The door has opened for Dallas to be something of a hero for United if he plays a role in them winning Premier League promotion, most likely through the playoffs.

But by the same token, the door has opened for him to kill his Leeds career entirely.

Before this chance, Dallas might’ve been at risk of being moved on this summer due to a low-profile, injury-hit first season under Bielsa.

And if he doesn’t impress over the next few weeks then he might accelerate his own departure, but if the 28-year-old, who cost £1.5 million [Belfast Telegraph], helps Bielsa’s side back into the top flight then maybe, just maybe, the 63-year-old keeps him next season.
