Leeds United suffered their first defeat of the season when they took on Millwall in the Championship on Saturday.
Stuart Dallas has told BBC Radio Leeds that Leeds deserved nothing from their game with Millwall at the weekend, and were probably lucky to only lose the contest 1-0.
Thomas Christiansen’s men suffered their first defeat of the season at The Den, as the Lions virtually dominated from start to finish despite the two sides’ respective positions in the table going into the contest.
Millwall however, did not break the deadlock until the second-half, and did not manage to add to their lead before the final whistle – but Dallas conceded that the scoreline flattered Leeds.
“It’s disappointing to have a defeat,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.
“I think on the day we weren’t good enough to get anything out of the game, and we were probably lucky to only come away with a 1-0 defeat.
“I think from start to finish, they were the better team. But we go again. I think the good thing about it is we have a chance to put things right within a few days.”
What will give Christiansen’s men plenty of confidence and reason for optimism is that they have been handed a wake-up call but still managed to hold onto top spot in the Championship.
They remain in a fantastic position in the table after eight games and seem to have a great opportunity to kick on and put up their best push for promotion since they fell out of the Premier League in 2004, but having been beaten quite comfortably, they will now be under absolutely no illusions as to how costly it could be in future games if they are not at their best.
