Leeds United are going great guns in the Championship so far this season.

Stuart Dallas has told a press conference, via Leeds United’s Facebook page, that people want to see he and his team-mates fail, after losing their first game of the season recently.

Leeds surrendered their undefeated streak this season after losing 1-0 away to Millwall on Saturday.

The Whites, who remain top of the Championship, hadn’t conceded a goal in 636 minutes of league football before Aiden O’Brien’s 73rd-minute winner at the weekend.

Nevertheless, it has still been an outstanding start to the season for a United team who have something to prove after their capitulation last term.

Under Garry Monk, Leeds somehow failed to finish in the top six when for so long it looked like a playoff spot was guaranteed, but one win in their last eight games put paid to their ambition of reaching the Premier League for another season at least.

That could be considered a failure and Dallas believes that the Elland Road are still expected to fail this season

He told a press conference, via Leeds’ Facebook page: “I think a lot of people were waiting on us to fail. That’s just the way it is. People, for some reason, want to see Leeds United fail because we’ve done so well.

“Last season too, people were probably expecting us to fail and we did, we failed at the end of the season, it wasn’t good enough.”

United take on Burnley tonight in a third-round League Cup clash, before turning their attentions toward the visit of Ipswich Town at the weekend.
